You may already know (possibly because we won’t stop talking about it 😂) that we recently surveyed 800+ Catholic women about their spiritual lives and how they engage Scripture.

It was so incredibly fascinating, and most of the feedback was right in line with something we were already feeling.

The Catholic women of the world (at least, our Marian Mindset world!) are hungry. Over and over the responses said:

We want rich, deep spiritual lives. We want to want to study Scripture and wrangle our minds into submission to Christ. We want to be consistent and confident in our spiritual practices. Dang it, we want to be so close to Jesus that His Word actually changes the way we think, respond, make decisions, love our families, and live our ordinary days.

Literally hundreds of women shared this sentiment… followed closely by: “I don’t know where to start.” Like, how do I actually do any of that tonight? AND how do I do it consistently?

So many women said, “I feel like I don’t get anything out of Scripture,” or “I feel like there’s something I’m missing,” or “I don’t really get how this applies to my actual life.”

And because of those feelings, we don’t make time for Scripture study. It’s not a priority. (Which, we totally get! Who seeks out an activity that makes them feel dumb or like they’re always doing it wrong?)

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about that gap: this delicate space between wanting to grow in your faith and actually building a life in which that growth happens.

And it lined up exactly with something we’ve been feeling for a while: There isn’t just one way to grow.

We need different ways to engage with our faith—ways to study deeply, reflect thoughtfully, explore freely, and make space to listen. And we need help with the mindset that allows us to keep showing up for all of it: to come back after we miss a day, to stop believing we’re “bad at Scripture,” and to build the kind of consistency that doesn’t depend on doing it perfectly.

So, we’ve created something… actually four somethings… to help you do exactly that.

*cue the screaming because we’re so excited*

There’s more than one way to grow

Here’s the other thing we’ve noticed:

Resources for Catholic women tend to fall into one of two camps. They’re either too academic and rigorous for a busy woman to realistically keep up with, OR (more often) they’re too fluffy and superficial to really feel like you’re going anywhere.

And we… don’t want either, ya know?

We want to connect busy Catholic women with some of the richest, deepest parts of Scripture and Church Tradition and make all of that depth actually applicable to real life.

And one of the biggest pieces we think is missing is mindset.

Most Catholic Bible study resources have some kind of application. But knowing how a Scripture passage applies to your life and actually allowing it to change the way you think, respond, and live are two different things.

So, we knew we wanted to help bridge that gap.

But we also believe that you need different things in different seasons of your life (or even just different seasons throughout the year!). Sometimes you need to roll up your sleeves and study, to actually, truly learn something new about your faith. Sometimes you need to ponder for a while. To reflect or wrestle with an idea. Sometimes you need less input and more room to listen, write, pray, and pay attention to what the Holy Spirit might be stirring up. And sometimes you need to try. To practice what you’re learning, explore something new, and experience your faith in a way you might not have chosen on your own.

So, the question became:

How can we help busy Catholic women go deeper in their faith, actually apply what they’re learning to their real lives, AND keep coming back to it consistently… all without making spiritual growth feel like another thing they’re failing to keep up with?

And THAT question completely changed the way we thought about the resources we wanted to create.

Because the answer wasn’t one perfect Bible study. Or devotional. Or even a perfect way of engaging with your faith. We wanted variety with intention

So, we’re BEYOND EXCITED TO SHARE that starting with Advent this year, Marian Mindset will be creating FOUR different types of resources designed to help you understand your faith more deeply, encounter it in different ways, and actually let what you’re learning take root in your everyday life.

Four different ways to engage your faith more deeply. Four different experiences to draw your closer to Christ. All with one goal: Keep growing into the woman, a future saint God is calling you to be.

Meet our Devotionals, Studies, Journals, and Guides.

*more internal screaming*

Devotionals: When you want something to ponder

Most of us are familiar with traditional devotionals. Maybe you have a well-loved one sitting on your nightstand right now. And for the most part, you know what you’re getting: a short Scripture passage or spiritual idea, a reflection from the author, and maybe a question or prayer to help you think about how it applies to your own life.

You’re not necessarily sitting down to study the text. You’re letting someone else who has spent time with it bring an idea or connection to you and then giving yourself space to ponder it. Our Devotionals follow that same basic idea, but we’re taking you a little deeper.

For example, our Advent Devotional this year moves almost paragraph by paragraph through a book of the Bible you’ve probably read and thought nothing else about. It’s a story-focused book and most of us read it and think, “How nice.” Our takeaways are often surface-level because the story seems so at first. We promise, you’ve never looked at this book of the Bible and thought, “You know what, this reminds me of Advent!”

And yet… our author saw so much more hiding there.

Connections to Advent. Themes you’ve probably skimmed right past. What the names mean, what the places signify. Tiny details that suddenly become significant when someone points them out.

This devotional is full of moments that make you stop and think, “Wait… how have I never noticed that before?!”

That’s what we want our Devotionals to do. We do the digging. You get to do the pondering.

And each day, we’ll bring those ideas and connections to you and then give you space to sit with them: What does this reveal about God? What does it stir up in you? Where might this connect to your own life?

We’ve also added meditative practices like lectio divina and visio divina—different ways to slow down, pray with what you’re reading, and give it a little more room to sink in.

Because that’s really the heart of our Devotionals: to give you something worth pondering, to see connections you haven’t before, and to make space so it can sink in and stay with you.

We want you to close the book and find yourself thinking about something you read hours later. To notice a connection you hadn’t seen before. And, little by little, to get more comfortable opening Scripture and expecting that there is actually something there for you to encounter.

And speaking of encounters…

STUDIES: When you want to dig in

But sometimes, you don’t want us to do all the digging for you. You want the shovel. You want to understand why the Church teaches something. You want to sit with a passage of Scripture long enough to notice what’s actually there. You want to read the words of a saint or Church Father yourself, wrestle with what they mean, and make connections you might not have made if someone simply handed you the answer.

That’s why we created our signature studies. We have truly seen *nothing* like these anywhere else.

Our Studies are deep dives into Scripture, Church teaching, and the wisdom of the saints and Church Fathers—but we’re not going to drop you into a 1,500-year-old text and say, “Best of luck, babe! See you on the other side!” ✌🏼

We specifically wanted to make engaging with the early Church and the saints more accessible to busy women who are curious but either don’t know where to start or feel intimidated.

Literally, Aquinas is believed to have written around 10 million words in his lifetime—without a computer! Also, he uses words like concupiscence. Sir. Please. I have eight minutes before someone needs my attention again… be it a toddler demanding a snack or a coworker waiting on Zoom, neither shall be kept waiting. 😂

But that doesn’t mean these incredible works should be reserved for theologians, academics, or women who somehow have three uninterrupted hours every morning. The works of these great minds are part of our inheritance and, as women who care deeply about our faith, we should be reading them.

And we want to help you access that without requiring you to figure out where on earth to begin.

So, we do some of the overwhelming work for you.

We’ve selected the topics to go deep on and found passages that will pull you into the unbelievable way they read Scripture. We give you the context and scaffolding you need before you read them. Then we let you engage with the actual words—to think, notice, wrestle, question, and see what you can pull out for yourself. And then we come alongside you with our own notes and explanations to help you go even deeper.

We don’t want to water this down for you (because truly, you don’t need things watered down!), but we do want to make the doorway to this incredible inheritance easier to find and step through.

But we also don’t want you to learn all of this amazing stuff and go right back to thinking and living exactly the way you did before.

That’s why every Study also has a mindset theme woven throughout it.

As you’re learning what Scripture, the saints, and the Church have to say about a particular topic, we’ll help you notice what’s happening in your own mind around that same topic and give you practical ways to work on it in your actual life.

Because it’s one thing to understand what the Church teaches about trust, surrender, suffering,

gratitude, identity, or whatever we happen to be studying. It’s another thing entirely to notice the thought you’re having at 3:47 on a random Tuesday afternoon and practice bringing that thought into submission to Christ.

We want you to do both.

We want you to walk away knowing more about your faith, yes. But we also want what you’ve learned to begin changing the way you think, respond, make decisions, and live. Because ultimately, the goal of studying our faith isn’t just to know more… it’s to become more like Christ.

JOURNALS: When you need room to listen and rest

And then there are times when you don’t need to study at all. These are those moments who more notes would feel overwhelming or a deep dive isn’t what your heart is longing for. And you definitely don’t need us telling you what topics to think about.

You need some space to hear yourself think and to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit might be stirring up.

That’s where our Journals come in.

Now, we know you could walk into Target tomorrow and buy a beautiful blank notebook. In fact, you may currently own seven beautiful blank notebooks. (We’re both raising our guilty hands 😂)

But there’s a reason so many of those notebooks remain…well, blank.

You sit down. You open to that crisp first page. You grab your favorite pen. And then: “Okay. Now what do I write?”

We wanted our Journals to solve that problem without swinging so far in the other direction that every page is filled with questions telling you exactly what to think about. So, we’ll give you just enough.

Each Journal will be built around a theme, with simple prompts and ideas to give your mind somewhere to start. Something to notice, chew one, maybe a thread to begin pulling.

And then we get out of the way!

Because unlike our Studies and Devotionals, the point of a Journal isn’t primarily for us to bring you an insight. We’re hoping to create enough structure that you can begin reflecting AND enough openness that your reflection can go somewhere we never could have planned for you.

Maybe a prompt brings something to the surface you didn’t realize you were carrying. Or you start writing about one specific thing and then, three pages later, realize the Lord has been inviting you to look at something completely different. Some days, you might write two sentences. Maybe you write six pages. Or maybe you spend half the time staring out the window because one question hit a little harder than you expected. 👀

It all counts.

We’ll give you somewhere to begin. But we don’t want to decide where you need to end. Silence, quiet, and contemplation are huge hallmarks of the interior life (and ones that often get lost in our hustling and bustling world).

Our Journals provide a little direction. A lot of room. And space to listen for where the Holy Spirit takes you.

Guides: When you want to explore

And finally, sometimes you need to stop reading about something and actually try it.

There are many spiritual practices that we’d love (and that would bring so much joy and peace into our lives)… except we don’t know about them or aren’t sure how to start. We created our guides to help you explore a variety of Catholic topics through different spiritual practices.

If our Studies are a deep well, our Guides are a wide table. In a Study, we’re taking a topic and saying, Let’s dig into this. Let’s understand what Scripture and the Church have to say. Let’s stay here long enough to really learn something.

A Guide is different. Instead of asking, “How deeply can we understand this?” we’re asking, “How many meaningful ways can we encounter this?” We set the table. We choose what’s worth exploring. We give you the structure and show you where to begin. And then you actually do the things.

Our Lent Guide, for example, explores five different Lenten themes through six different spiritual practices. You’re not just going to read about Lent every day for 40 days. You’re going to experience the season from different angles, try different ways of praying and engaging, and actually practice what you’re learning.

Some of it may feel familiar.

Some of it may make you think, Ohhh, I love this.

Some of it may make you think, Welp. Tried that. Not for me. 😂

The entire point is encounter! Because there are so many beautiful ways to engage with our faith that most of us simply haven’t been exposed to yet.

And they won’t only be about prayer or liturgical seasons. A Guide might help you explore marriage, homeschooling, a theological theme, a particular practice, or an area of your everyday life through the lens of your faith.

The topic can change. The approach stays the same: We provide the scaffolding. You explore, practice, and discover.

We want Guides to expose you to ideas and experiences you might never have sought out on your own, and give you enough structure that you don’t have to figure out how to begin.

Hi, we're Olivia and Hannah

We're the moms behind Marian Mindset! Both of us became mothers before we felt ready for the gift of motherhood—Olivia at 17 with an unexpected pregnancy, and Hannah with surprise twins after being told she couldn’t have children. For years we struggled—yelling, threatening, and feeling like we were being punished.

But we also had the sense that motherhood wasn't meant to be like this; that God didn’t design motherhood to be a cross. Through His providence, we discovered mindset work, a practice rooted deep in Sacred Scripture and Tradition dating back to the early Church. And that work changed everything...
